Islamabad : After conducting military strikes against Afghanistan for around one month , Islamabad on Wednesday announced to halt operation Ghazabul Haq launched to nutralise terrorists using Afghan soil to attack inside Pakistan.
Information minister, Atta Tarar , said in a recorded video statement here that Pakistan has decided to halt airstrikes on Afghanistan with immediate effect for a week till March 24 . The minister added that Pakistan decided to halt airstrikes on Afghanistan on the request of some friendly Muslim countries . He mentioned Turkiya , Qatar and Saudi Arabia , in particular , which made request to Pakistan for halting airstrikes on Afghanistan.
Mr Tarar , however , warmed Afghanistan that any attack from its side on Pakistan will result in ending to the truce and any such development will result in resumption of military operation against it.
Following deadly terrorist attacks from Afghanistan , Pakistan launched a retaliatory military operation Ghazabul Haq last months.
Pakistan hit every point in Afghanistan during its a month long military strikes from where it believed terrorists were operating to carry out suicide bombing and other deadly attacks on its land.
Since the launch of military operation , many Muslim countries are calling upon Pakistan to halt military operation and give them a chance for negotiated resolution of the issues that compelled Pakistan to launch military operation against Afghanistan.
Pakistan has a bad experience of having a negotiated solution of the issues that brought it to a situation to use military force against Afghanistan.
Pakistan made multiple efforts to make Afghan Taliban regime to move against terrorist groups operating against it from that country. Afghan Taliban regime not only ignored these calls , but also pampered terrorist groups to keep attacking inside Pakistan. Afghan regime also remained stubborn to an effort of the friendly Muslim countries which negotiated between Islamabad and Kabul for the peaceful solution to the disputed issues.
After getting harsh response from Islamabad , Taliban regime had been pleading to the same negotiators to ask Pakistan to speak to it for a peaceful solution to the problematic issues.
