Islamabad : In a major development, the United States and Iran have agreed to a 2-week ceasefire in the Middle East ( ME) with immediate effect. Following the ceasefire announcement on early hours on Wednesday , both US and Iran have agreed to have negotiations in Islamabad for a complete end to the conflict permanently on the basis of 10-point plan.
Pakistan has welcomed the ceasefire of the war and thanked both parties –Iran and US– to the conflict for reaching to the ceasefire on its request.
Prime Minister , Shahbaz Sharif, in his statement issued here on Wednesday said he was extremely happy to announce that US and Iran have agreed to a 2-week ceasefire to bring an end to the ME war and hold negotiations in Islamabad for a complete and long term solution to the conflict from April 10 . According to the prime minister of Pakistan , Iran and US will hold negotiations in Islamabad on the 10-plan framework to end the ME war and establish peace in the region on the long term basis.
Pakistan is happy that its weeks’ long efforts for ceasefire have succeeded and both Iran and US agreed to its request for a 2-week ceasefire. Islamabad was working tirelessly with like-minded countries like Turkyiea, Qatar , Saudi Arabia and China to find a long term solution to the ME war.

Finally , it succeeded to bring the parties to the negotiating table. Prime Minister , Shahbaz Sharif, and Field Martial , General Asim Munir, have played a key role to bring parties to a peaceful solution to the ME war.
US president while announcing ceasefire last night on Pakistan ‘s request posted on X said “On Pakistan ‘s request he is holding attacks on Iran and agreed to a 2-week ceasefire in the ME war immediately “.

Earlier , US president had threatened to launch deadly attack on Iran if it does not agree to its demand of opening the strait of Hormuz by Tuesday 8 o clock ET.
Iran has also issued a statement confirming a 2-week ceasefire and having talks with US in Islamabad on April 10 for complete end to the ME war.
Ceasefire in ME war will bring the world to an immediate relief as opening of the strait of Hormuz will give relief to the soaring oil and other supplies to the world.
Interestingly , there is no mention of Israel in the ceasefire announcement. Apparently , it seems US has ditched Israel for the ceasefire.
