Islamabad : Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , and Deputy prime minister and Foreign minister , Ishaq Dar , and Field Martial , Asim Munir , are representing Pakistan at Iran’s former Supreme leader , Ayotullah Khamenei ‘s funeral.
Both the prime minister and deputy prime minister and Foreign minister left Islamabad for Iran in the morning today to attend the funeral of Iran’s former supreme leader , Ayotuallah Khamenei.
Funeral of Iran’s former supreme leader is being held in Tehran tomorrow. His coffin will then be taken to his native city Qom for burial on July 9.

Iran ‘s former supreme leader , Ayotullah Khamenei , was killed with dozens of other top Iranian military and political leaders in the air strikes on the very first day of the US-Israel war on Iran.
The US and Israel had launched a joint war on Iran on February 28 this year. Air attacks of the US -Israel caused huge human and assets losses to Iran and in return Iran had hit back on Israel and US bases in the ME region. After almost two months of relentless war in the region , Pakistan took charge to mediate between the US and Iran for a ceasefire and peaceful solution to the war that had devastated the world economy. Pakistan’s efforts remained successful and finally both warring sides signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Islamabad for a ceasefire in May last that is followed by a number of sessions of direct and indirect talks for finding out a way out to reach to a permanent agreement to end the ME war.
After almost four months and the end to hostilities , Iran is going to hold funeral for burial of its former supreme leader , Ayotullah Khamenei.
Iran had delayed funeral of former supreme leader due to continuous bombing of the US on Iran and targeting its other top leadership.
According to Iran’s state media around 100 countries’ heads of the governments or high level delegations are going to attend the state funeral of Iran’s former supreme leader , Ayotaullah Khamenei.
