Islamabad : The Finance ministry on Thursday released workers remittance data for the last fiscal year . It said the Workers’ remittances reached a record $41.6 billion in FY2025โ€“26, up 9% YoY, while June 2026 alone contributed $3.5 billion.

Since debt-ridden Pakistan depends heavily on its remittances , it will happy to see it’s growing remittances. In its statement , Finance ministry noted this historic milestone reflects the unwavering confidence of overseas Pakistanis and reinforces Pakistan’s external sector resilience, stronger foreign exchange buffers, and improving macroeconomic fundamentals.

Remittances trend:
โ–ช๏ธŽ FY26: $41.6 billion, +9%
โ–ช๏ธŽ FY25: $38.3 billion, +26%
โ–ช๏ธŽ FY24: $30.3 billion, +11%
โ–ช๏ธŽ FY23: $27.3 billion

The Finance ministry observed FY26 is a record achievement with the last 3 years’ growth being phenomenal, powered by millions of hardworking Pakistanis across the globe.

One social media user in his comments on the Finance ministry data released to confirm unprecedented increase in remittances said ” Why Pakistan is going further down in foreign and local debt despite getting such a big jump in the workers remittances”.
