THATHA: Awami Tehreek is getting momentum to resist grabbing of land in Sindh in the name of different housing societies and projects.
It held ‘Save Kohistan, Save Sindh’ conference in Jhumpeer on Sunday.
A large number of Sindhiani Tehreek workers including women attended the conference.
Awami Tehreek chief, Dr Rasool Bux Khaskhali, addressed the conference . He said the capitalists wanted to grab land in Sindh for their housing societies and at the same time some projects like wind power projects were being launched in many districts of Sindh like Jamshoro, Sajawal , Thatha and many others to deprieve the people of Sindh of their inherited lands.
Dr Rasool Bux Khaskhali noted that the people of Sindh are rightful owner of its land and they can not be deprieved of their this inherited right. He deplored that Sindh government was not taking the issues of the people of Sindh seriously.
Dr Rasool Bux Khaskhali demanded that the government should provide basic facilities like road network, pure drinking water, basic health facilities to raise living standard of the people of Sindh.
Awami Tehreek central vice president , Hoorun Nisa in her address said the people of Kohistan were having serious problems due to non- availability of basic facilities like health care and drinking water. She said the women in Kohistan bring drinking water from long distances which makes their lives miserable. She demanded of the government to address the issue of drinking water in Kohistan on top priority basis.
Awami Tehreek general secretary, Noor Katiar, said the participation of Sindhi people in today’s conference is an indication that they were vigilant to the grabbers’ plan and will go to any extent to defeat them and get their rights of holding back their inherited lands.
Other leaders of the Tehreek also addressed to the participants of the conference.
