ISLAMABAD: Interior minister, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, on Monday said an Afghan team is in Islamabad to investigate alleged kidnapping case of the daughter of ambassador, Najibullah Alikhili.
Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, Najibullah Alikhili’s 27 years old daughter had reported her kidnapping and torture in Islamabad on July 16, 2021.
The daughter of Afghan ambassador to Islamabad had formally lodged a first information report (FIR) with Islamabad police.
In the FIR, the Afghan ambassador’s daughter had claimed that she was kidnapped and tortured by a man on her way back home from a market in a taxi in Islamabad on July 16,2021.
The statement of Afghan ambassador ‘s daughter suggested that the kidnapper released her after torturing for a few hours.
The Islamabad police took swift action as the matter was of highly sensitive nature. The entire system got into action for investigations which proved the claims of Afghan ambassador’s daughter unfounded .
Following facts based on the investigations into the case, Pakistan informed Kabul that the claims and facts were contrary to each other.
However, Kabul insisted to find out facts in the case through its own team.
Addressing a press conference, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad said the visiting Afghan team has been facilitated for its investigations into the case.
“I have ordered Inspector General Islamabad police to share the report to Afghan team and assist it for investigations into the case”, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad concluded.
