PPP blocks move for justice to ‘Daughter of Sindh’

THATHA: Pakistan People Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is also head of the standing committee of the national assembly on human rights turned a tumbling block to remove the Umm e Rubab issue from the agenda of the meeting scheduled for August 12, 2021 .

It’s shocking that PPP which always claims a status of human rights torch- bearer, its chairman proved himself otherwise by removing Umme Rubab case from the agenda of the meeting. PPP chairman himself dropped Umm e Rubab issue wherein the poor girl is facing perpetual resistance from the Sindh police and other concerned departments for seeking justice in triple murder case of her family elders .

Umme Rubab, a young girl from Sindh known as ‘Daughter of Sindh’ is applicant in triple murder case of her family elders including father, grandfather and real uncle.

A group of wadaira from Thatha having close association with PPP had killed barbarically these three elders of Umme Rubab’s family in 2018 over local dispute.

Since 2018, Umme Rubab is fighting the case against powerful killers having full backing of PPP, but as of today she is yet to get the justice. She is facing huge difficulty in fighting the case in the court due to influence of the accused.

Umme Rubab can be seen standing before the cameras pleading to the court of law after every hearing that she expects justice soon as delaying justice is denied justice.
Despite her great courage and patience it seemed that its too difficult, if not possible, for her to get justice in this society.

Having the same feelings, some member of the parliament had raised the issue of triple murder in Sindh and thereafter delay in delivering justice at the floor of the house and the speaker had sent the matter to the standing committee of the human rights for discussion.

Unfortunately, Umme Rubab met the resistance in parliament also as the standing committee of human rights of the national assembly is headed by the same party (PPP) chief which is openly supporting the accused rather than helping the applicant hailing from Sindh.

Lal Chand, a party MNA and member of the human right standing committee strongly objected to Bilawal Bhutto’s decision of dropping umme Rubab case from the agenda of the meeting without the consent of the other members. He vowed to take the matter in committee meeting with it meets on August 12, 2021.
