ISLAMABAD: There was absolutely no threat of any kind to Kiwi players while playing in Pakistan, New Zealand used it as a trick to call back its team from Pakistan to put pressure on Islamabad to reconsider its defence deal with Argentina . Basically, New Zealand pulled out from a scheduled cricket series to become a party to United Kingdom (UK) and a few other European countries which vehemently opposed the defence deal between Pakistan and Argentina for the sale of 12 JF 17 Thunder Block 111.
NEWSMAN leant from reliable sources on Sunday that Pakistan had entered into a $ 664 million defence deal with Argentina on September 17, 2021 for the sale of 12 JF 17 Block 111 to which UK was vehemently opposing .
It was coincident that Pakistan and Argentina cleared the defence deal on September 17, 2021 …exactly the day when the cricket teams of Pakistan and New Zealand were scheduled to play their first one day match in Rawalpindi.
” Pakistan entered into a 664 Million US$ defence deal with Argentina (Sold 12 JF 17 Block 111) which UK told Pakistan not to do as both UK and Argentina fought for the Faukland Island in the past and according to UK, Argentina doesn’t have any other enemy to use these jets except The UK,,” the sources said
The deal was approved on September 17, and in next hour NZ cancelled it’s tour to Pakistan.
UK may use other tactics to create further pressure on Pakistan .

New Zealand used a defence deal as a ploy to intentionally damage Pakistan’s repute. New Zealand had dispatched its team to Pakistan after declaring it a safe country to play a full- fledged series and then it pulled out of it on to make UK and a few European countries realise that it can damage sport to stand with them to create pressure on Pakistan for scrapping its defence deal with Argentina for sale of JF 17 Block 111.
