ISLAMABAD: Trader leaders on Monday announced that they will stage sit in outside FBR Headquarters on September 29, 2021.
In a press release issued here , Anjuman e Tajran president, Ajmal Baloch and secretary , Khalid Chaudhary, called upon the traders to reach out at FBR headquarters in Islamabad for staging sit in against FBR’s anti traders policies on September 29.
The traders and FBR officials are on the war path for many days over sale tax registration issue. A row between Federal Board of Revenue ( FBR) took ugly turn when the latter claimed resolving thorny issues with them in its official press release issued here on Sunday . In the press release, FBR claimed that after reaching an agreement, All Pakistan Anjuman e Tajran postponed its sit in outside its headquarters in Islamabad. FBR referred name of Kashif Chaudhary as a real and legtimate leader of Anjuman e Tajran Pakistan.
The official handout said after successful negotiations with FBR, trader leaders called off sit in at its headquarters scheduled for September 27.
The handout said “A delegation of elected leadership of small traders on September 26,2021 successfully concluded discussions where all misunderstandings and confusions pertaining to Tax Laws (Third Amendment) Ordinance-2021 were clarified. The decisions agreed were formally announced by Mr. Qaisar Iqbal, Member (IR Operations) FBR and the central leadership of traders at a joint press conference. Member (IR Operations) informed the media that all confusions and misunderstandings of small traders on the Tax Laws (Third Amendment) Ordinance were removed. He thanked the elected leadership of the traders’ community for their understanding and cooperation and also assured them that all issues regarding tax laws and any other confusion shall be clarified by mutual discussions, leaving no space for unfounded propaganda or misinformation spread by irresponsible elements on social media. Mr. Kashif Chaudhry, Central President of Markazi Tanzeem Tajiran, Pakistan on behalf of all representatives of small traders from all over the country who were also present at the press conference, announced to postpone the protest call scheduled for September, 27 2021”.
Traders community which is protesting against FBR for what its central leaders Ajmal Baloch , Khalid Chaudhary and several others called barbaric act for bringing vedors and small shop keepers under Sale Tax regime rejected FBR claims. In its press release, traders community termed FBR announcement made here on Sunday as a pack of lies. It reiterated that traders of Pakistan will stage peaceful protest against FBR as per schedule on September 29, 2021.
