LAHORE/ ISLAMABAD: After repeated upward revisions in petroleum product prices and their devastating impact on the people lives , the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) , an opposition alliance, has geared up to launch protest against price-hike across the country.
PDM leadership held telephonic conversations in the wake of recent surge in the oil prices and discuss the plan for anti government mass movement . Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president, Shahbaz Sharif , spoke to PDM chief Maulana, Fazalur Rehman, on phone to discuss the fallout of the price-hike on the masses and catch an opportunity to launch mass movement to over throw Imran Khan government.. The two leaders also contacted PMLN superemo, Nawaz Sharif , in London , who, according to media reports, endorsed PDM plan to launch anti government mass
movement in the country.
Following these high level discussions, PDM decided to hold its important meeting in Islamabad on Monday (today) to discuss the political situation of the country, particularly with reference to current level of price-hike and workout a strategy to make anti government mass movement a success.
Maulana Fazalur Rehman also spoke to media here on Sunday. He said Imran Khan’s government has turned into a torment for the people who want to send it packing now. He said PDM leadership is meeting in Islamabad on Monday (today) to chalk out a strategy to get the people rid of this “Incompetent and most corrupt government of Pakistan”. He added that PDM is going to launch a countrywide mass movement and appealed to the people to participate in it to throw IK government out.
Meanwhile, PMLN vice president, Maryam Nawas, addressing a social media party workers convention in Lahore on Sunday said Imran Khan has devastated Pakistan in his rule spanning over three and half years . She noted that Pakistan was at a cross road today due to wrong policies of the government and it calls for thinking over and above party or individual interests.
