LAHORE. Hussnain Shah, a crime reoprter of a private TV , was shot dead outside the Lahore Press Club (LPC) here on Monday.
According to a local police official, Hussnain Shah, a member of LPC was sitting in his car outside the club when the suspects intercepted him and shot at killing him on the spot.
The killing of the journalist in the daylight outside LPC has sent very shocking message to the journalists community of Pakistan, in particular, and the public at large in general. City Chief Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Fayyaz Ahmad, visited the crime scene and told the media persons that the police was after the suspects and he would make sure that their arrest was made without any delay. He asserted that the police will use all possible resources to nab and bring the suspects before the court of law for speedy trial.
Meanwhile , the Council of Pakistan Newpaper Editors (CPNE) has condemned the killing of Hussnain Shah in the day light outside LPC. The CPNE demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Hussnain Shah.
International Union of Journalists ( IUJ) called killing of Hussnain Shah as a big question mark on the security situation in Pakistan and the measures taken by the authorities for protection of journalists.
LPC president , Azam Chaudhary, condemned killing of Hussnain Shah outside the LPC and demanded of the government to arrest killers of the journalist.
Chaudhary Azam deplored that the government has failed to protect the journalists.
The journalists across Pakistan have been protesting killing of their colleague in Lahore.
The journalists of Thatha and Badin press clubs on Tuesday protested killing of Hussnain Shah and demanded arrest of the killers.
