PTI to lose in KPK LB polls again: JI chief

LOWER DIR: Feb 1:Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Sirajul Haq, has said the Pakistan Tehreek- e -Insaf (PTI) was all set to lose completely its basecamp in the second phase of local government elections in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK).
Addressing a public meeting in his hometown Lower Dir on Tuesday, Surajul Haq said the sun of “tabdili” was setting down from where it was imposed on the people.
He said PTI has failed to bring any change in the province in eight and half years and in the country in three and half years. He also held the two main opposition parties equally responsible for the plight of the masses, saying the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)and the Pakistan People Party (PPP)were on the same boat when it comes to the matter of making surrender before the US or international lending agencies. The three parties, he added, sold the state bank to the International Monetory Fund (IMF) and signed the document of the slavery. The friendly wrestling of the three parties were visible in the Senate during the passage of mini-budget and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) amendment bill 2021 ,he said.
The JI chief said the inflation rate remained 13 percent in January and the average inflation rate, as per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, could not come down from 10 percent in the last six months. The PTI government has failed to bring down inflation to single digit during its tenure and it happened first time in history, he said.
Sirajul Haq said the people had tested the three parties which could not provide them any relief during their rule. The past and present rulers took massive loans and spent them on their own luxuries, he added.
He said the half of budget went back to the international lenders in terms of debt payment as the capitalism and interest-based economy ruined every sector. He said country could not go ahead without elimination of interest-based economy.
A former PTI leader Haji Ameer Naushad along with hundreds of his supporters joined the JI on occasion.
