RAWALPINDI : Peshawar Corps is an illustrious formation of Pakistan army spearheading national war against terrorism for over two decades . One of the most competent and professional officers is entrusted with the responsibility to lead this prestigious formation.
Imprudent comments made by important senior politicians recently about Corps Commander Peshawar are very inappropriate. Such statements undermine the honour and morale of institution and its leadership. It is expected that the senior political leadership of country refrains from passing objectionable remarks against the institution whose brave officers and men are constantly putting their lives on the line to guard the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan.
ISPR spokesman , major general Iftilhar Babar , participated in a private TV show on Thursday. He told the anchor person that the political leader is to decide the schedule for general elections . He said if the army will discharge duty for security in elections if called for it. He said Pakistani nation loves its army which is fighting on various fronts to safeguard borders of the country. The ISPR chief said no one can create division among military ranks . The army look towards it’s chief for decision making.
