ISLAMABAD : After petrol and electricity , Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved 45 % increase in gas prices for the consumers of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and 44% for the consumers of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC). The authority approved the increase in gas rates on Friday.
According to media reports , OGRA sent its approval for upward revision in gas prices here on Friday.
With new prices, gas rates for Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) and Islamabad per MMCFD will go up to Rs 266.58. For SSGC the new gas rates will be Rs 308.53 per MMCFD.
Like petroleum products and power, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was demanding surge in gas prices . The new gas rates will become applicable with the endorsement of the federal government.
