Well-done Pakistan: FATF acknowledges Islamabad deserves to be removed from grey list

Indian fails in nefarious designs against Islamabad

ISLAMABAD :. Finally Pakistan has made a big stride by getting a statement from Financial Action Task Force (FATF) of completing all its conditions that will help it get out of its grey list after on- site visit of the task force team.
By showing commitment that Pakistan is a responsible state and was capable of countering serious issues like terror financing and money laundering it foiled India’s nefarious design of pushing Islamabad in FATF black list . Since 2018, when FATF put Pakistan on its grey list , India did every kind of propaganda to push its arch rival in FATF black list.
FATF president, Dr Marcus Pleyer , announced on Friday on the conclusion of FATF meeting held in Berlin in Germany that he was glad to announce that Pakistan has complied all FATF points and it needs not to do anything more to get out of the grey list. He said FATF team will have an onsite visit to Pakistan subject to situation of COVID-19 and on its conclusion the task force will take a decision to remove Pakistan from the grey list in its meeting to be held in October next in France.
The FATF president acknowledged that Pakistan has done a good job to complete all points raised by the task force to get it removed from FATF grey list. He said Pakistan has shown great commitment to address the issues relating to terror financing and money laundering and on completion of these points it deserves to get removed from the grey list. The FATF president also. acknowledged that Pakistan has made great progress in prosecution of terror financing and money laundering cases.
The FATF announcement of Friday is a good news for Pakistan and its people who are in dejection mood due to prevailing economic situation of the country. The FATF announcement that Pakistan has shown great commitment to get out of grey list is more than a mere statement for Pakistan as it will help restore confidence of the international rating agencies , banks and over and above the global financial market and this development will subsequently improve Pakistan ‘s rating in the global market .Once FATF makes a final announcement to remove Pakistan out of grey list it will win confidence of foreign investors in Pakistan to help it get more share of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the future.
State minister for Foreign Affairs , Hina Rubbani Khar, termed Friday’s FATF announcement as a great news for Pakistan in her video message released here and congratulated the nation for getting confidence of the task force and qualify to get its name removed from the grey list. She said FATF’s acknowledgement that Pakistan did great job and now it deserves to be removed from grey list was a result of its hard work of the last 4 years .
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) director general major general , Babar Iftikhar, in a statement said the army had established a special cell at General Headquarters (GHC) in Rawalpindi to help the government achieve FATF goals and stand tall among the global communities
Army chief, general Qamar Javed Bajwa, said a joint effort of civil and military paved way for Pakistan to get out of FATF grey list. He said core cell established at GHQ did hard work to assist the government achieve FATF task.
Former prime minister , Imran Khan, said his government took a number of steps to fulfil FATF requirements . He claimed his minister , Hammad Azhar , did great job in his rule and it finally enabled Pakistan to qualify to get removed from FATF grey list
