KARACHI. August 16, 2022. After two weeks, US dollar has started to strengthen its position against the rupee.
On Tuesday, US dollar made slight gain in interbank market as tis selling value appreciated by Rs 0.75 at closing of the currency market and in open market it made gain of Rs 2 against the local unit.
US dollar selling price soared to Rs 210 against Rs 208 of Monday closing time. Likewise its buying rates also increased in open market by Rs 2 . The US currency closed at Rs 212 against Rs 210 of Monday.
The rupee has shown remarkable appreciation in its value against the rupee in the last two weeks and gain around Rs 28 against the US dollar. The currency dealers and experts are confident that the rupee will maintain its gaining streak against US currency as the government is closing a deal of $ 1.17 with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
They also appreciate the government policy of tightening import policy to avoid unnecessary imports to set aside pressure on the local currency.
