ISLAMABAD; Other than food supllies and financial assistance, Pakistan has agreed to give more concessions to war -torn Afghanistan during a round of crucial talks held between the two sides at Torkhum border.
Sources told NEWSMAN that Pakistan and Afghanistan had high level talks at Torkhum Pak-Afghan border last week. Pakistan’s delegation that held talks with Afghan authorities included military and civilian officials of various departments including ministry of Interior, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) , Anti Norcotics Force (ANF) , National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) and Customs officials.
Sources said the Afghan side was led by Qari Noor Jalal, Deputy Interior Minister , for talks on various issues relating to border management, trade between the two countries and facilitation of the Afghan people for travelling to Pakistan. The Afghan delegation also imcluded Qari Hamas, Minister for Interior (National Public Protection) , Shaikh Nida Mohammad, IGP Nangarhar province and Ghazi Mula, Kamisar Torkhum.
Sources said the two sides had indepth discussion on all issues confronted with Afghanistan government and the people of that war-torn country.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s delegation agreed with Afghan side that keeping in view dire need of medical treatment, Afghan children upto 8 years age will be allowed to enter into Pakistan with their families without any documents. It was also agreed that Pakistan will entertain 100 patients per day and attendents of Afghan patients will not require any documents.
Pakistan also agreed to imcrease immigration/
facilitation centres at Pak-Afghan entry points subject to approval of the competent authority. Likewise, the meeting also agreed that Pakistan and Afghanistan will sort out all trade related issues to promote bilateral trade between Kabul and Islamabad on top priority basis. Pakistan also agreed to facilitate Afghan government for construction of three state- of -the- art hospitals at Afghan Torkhum side in the future.
Pakistan is doing every possible effort to help Afghan government and the people of that country overcome aggravating human crisis there. Its providing food and financial assistance to avert looming human crisis in that cash stricken country.
