JI chief: World Bank, IMF responsible for Pakistan’s economic meltdown

ISLAMABAD: Terming interest-based economic system as a major cause of exonmic crises in Pakistan, Jamaat-e- Islami (JI) chief , Senator Sirajul Haq , on Tuesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was pushing the country into deeper economic crises by following instructions of International Monitory Fund (iMF) wizards who, in his views,  have nothing to do with serious issues of the country like foreign loans, interest of billions incurring on these loans and creeping economy.
Addressing a seminar organised by Islamabad chapter of JI here  Senator Sirajul Haq said PTI has not shown any seriousness to pull the national economy back from serious crises in its two and half years  . It, he added, instead added to economic woes by preferring to Riba-based economic system over Islamic economic system which could guarantee economic prosperity in the country. He noted that IMF recommended economic wizards want Pakistan to continue with exiting Riba based exonmic system for further economic.meltdown of Pakistan’s economy.  He argued that solution to all problems today confronted with Pakistan was folded in application of Islamic economic system . He said JI has a complete expertise to apply Riba free economic system in the country. He said the political parties which ruled Pakistan for decades were obsessed with IMF and World Bank policies as its wizards were ruling the system to cheat Pakistani nation. JI chief said Pakistan today was facing economic crises due to World Bank and IM F policies. He deplored inaction on the government side for correction in economic policies to overcome Pakistan’s economic crises in possible shortest time. He quoted PIA and other entities which were bleeding for years and causing huge loss to the country but PTI government was not moving fast to fix up those deficiencies to stop loss of hundreds of billions to the national kitty.
