Kerosene , light diesel prices go down, petrol , HSD rates stay unchanged

Return submission date extended till Dec 15

ISLAMABAD : Nov 30,2022: The government has reduced the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel by Rs 10 and Rs 7 50 per liter. However , it kept the rates of peteol and high speed diesel unchanged .

Finance minister , Ishaq Dar , announced reduction in kerosene and light diesel prices at a press conference here on Wednesday

With reduction the sale price of kerosene oil has reduced to Rs 181 from its previous rates of Rs 191.05 a liter .

The new prices of petroleum products will remain affective for a fortnight (Dec 1-15).

Announcing the adjustment in petroleum product prices , Ishaq Dar , said the prime minister granted approval for reduction in kerosene oil by Rs 10 and light diesel by Rs 7.50 a liter to protect the pro poor segment of the society who uses kerosene oil for stoves to brave bjtting winter . He added that the prices of light diesel have been reduced by Rs 7.50 a liter to provide relief to the farming community which runs tubewells on light diesel.

The Finance minister also announced to extend date for submission of returns . He said the date for submission of returns have been extended till December 15, 2022 to provide a chance to those who so for have not fulfilled this legal obligation to submit return before the last chance expires on December 15,2022.

Earlier the Finance minister addressed a seminar and vowed to implement Islamic banking system in Pakistan and replace existing interest based banking system from Pakistan.

He said the government has taken a decision in principle to get rid of interest based banking system . He said State Bank of Pakistan has withdrawn review petition from the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) filed against the decision of the Federal Shariat Court .
