ISLAMABAD: Indian media reports that Metro Pharmaceuticals Pakistan, a leading Islamabad-based pharma company, and at least four other Pakistani pharmaceutical firms owe to Indian suppliers Rs 2.85 crore and Indian State minister for Commerce, Anupriya, has tabled a motion before Rajha Sabha to take the matter with Pakistan’s concerned authorities for recovery of owed money from Pakistani exporters, has turned into a fabricated story.
Just in 24 hours after tabling the issue in Rajya Sabha by Indian MoS for Commerce, Naseer Ahmed Khan, Director International Business, Mero Pharmaceuticals Pakistan has responded to the news items published by Tribune India, citing his company among defaulters on payment on supply of raw material by Indian exporters and contacted to his exporter, Hindustan Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals in Mumbai, to seek its management’s reply on reporting Metro Pharmaceuticals Pakistan among the firms, which allegedly owe Rs 2.82 crore to Indian exporters.
Talking to NEWSMAN and DANISHWAR Daily, Naseer Ahmad Khan, said here on Monday “We do not owe any money to Indian exporter –Hindustran Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals as reported by Tribune India and in response to my reaction the Indian firm has confirmed us that there was no dispute of payment between Hindustan Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals and Metro Pharmaceuticals Pakistan. He said Hindustran Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals has written a letter citing Indian MoS claim incorrect .He said after a written clarification of Hindustan Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Metro Pharmaceuticals Pakistan demands an unconditional apology from Tribune India for reporting an incorrect information on behalf of MoS of Commerce that eroded credibility of his company . He said “It is case of credibility of our reputed firm and in case of failing in seeking written apology by Tribune India, Metro Pharmaceuticals, Pakistan does have the legal right to sue the Indian media house for damage caused to his company by publishing a fabricated story. Naseer Ahmad Khan provided NEWSMAN and DANISHWAR Daily a copy of the letter dated December 13, 2021 written by Indian exporter, Hindustan Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, appreciating Metro Pharmaceuticals Pakistan for playing a positive role in clearance of its shipment and subsequently dues when the indentor in the deal was not responding to Indian exporter’s for clearance of dues and the payment.
