ISLAMABAD, October 14,2024: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar inaugurated the Media Facilitation Centre at the Pak-China Friendship Center in Islamabad today, aimed at supporting local and foreign media during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
The centre boasts modern facilities, including a computer lab, high-speed internet, a digital studio, a podcast studio, a media library, and a conference room.
In a news conference following the inauguration, Minister Tarar emphasized that the government has ensured all facilities meet international standards. He praised the Information Ministry’s team for their efforts in establishing the centre.
Tarar expressed pride in hosting the SCO summit, stating that Pakistan looks forward to warmly welcoming esteemed guests and dignitaries.
He highlighted the hospitality and peace-loving nature of the Pakistani people, describing Islamabad as one of the world’s most beautiful capitals, enhanced to reflect the country’s rich culture.
The Minister also noted that hosting the SCO meeting showcases Pakistan’s capability to organize large-scale events. He reassured that security measures are robust, stating that the Red Zone is a fully secure area with comprehensive arrangements in place for the summit.
On the economic front, Tarar reported that Pakistan’s economic indicators are showing a positive trajectory, with international organizations recognizing the country as an emerging economy.
