This fictional dream focusing me as the Supreme Commander of the armed forces in conversation with my own supreme commander who remains to be my wife ; trying to find a single solution to the never ending problems of the country. I hope my beloved readers enjoy this satirical piece written with a sense of patriotism, as opposed to any ill feelings or malice towards any individual or institution.
On Saturday 10th May 2023 at 4 am in the morning my eyes opened with my body profusely sweating and shivering that I looked around to find my wife in deep sleep to which I looked in utter disgust to be the reason behind the nightmare that nearly took my precious life more precious to me than anything else in life .
My dream goes like this “I attired in white Kameez shalwar amid a lush green sprawling lawn in the comfort of my huge official house sipping tea, assuming that I was the most powerful man on face of the earth, when my wife complained, “Pakistan is going through bad times”, reminding me that it was my responsibility to put it back on track. “What can I do everybody tried but couldn’t do anything how can I correct it” , I replied. My wife frowned in disbelief questioned but when we married you said you were a warrior with only one cause of your life to defend Pakistan and Pakistanies that made me speechless and answerless.
Next I was on the phone with someone and afterwards a helicopter landed in the lawn and from it alighted a group of 12 smartly turned out officers , one amongst them led them , who all had travelled as fast as the wind from Cherat could carry them , the former British military hill station located on the bank of Indus river Indus in KPK. They were followed by two of the spy masters with a long list. I was the first to take oath , while my wife stared intimatingly.
Next we travelled back and had our dinner and prayers together at the hilly station at Cherat home of the commandos, when one after another squadrons of the helicopters took off and disappeared towards their destination in all four provinces of Pakistan . Next day at dawn as the daylight began to separate from the darkness that they all returned and reported to me, “mission accomplished” .
The media was in utter shock having discovered massacre of their heroes, godfathers and pay masters, in a midnight raid in which all anti – Pakistan elements were exterminated in one go in the mission code named ” Save Pakistan”. The mission targeted all the bad boys across- the – board from the cross- section of the society with all those ever accused of any wrong doing, denied to live another day on the soil of Pakistan which they all destroyed with their misdeeds.
I surrendered before the few left over honest judges and confessed my crime of having taken the law of the land into my hands. My open trail went publicly reported 24/7 by the media some suggesting my body to be hacked into pieces, while others shed crocodile tears for their slained patrons whom they always protected and projected as the Saviours and Messiahs .
I was convicted, put on trial for having killed my countrymen without any evidence or justification in my defense to prove my innocence before the trail Court and the Honourable judges except pleading innocence for my good intention to do good against those who had all the evidence against them, yet they lived a carefree life in dignity making the lives of their countrymen unlivable and in utter disgrace . While pleading guilty, the law prevailed and I was sentenced to death to be hanged by the neck till dead.
The roads of the capital were quite that fateful day of my hanging and there were a large number of ordinary citizens from across Pakistan who came all the way to see the public execution of a traitor and violator of the law of the land.
My old mother feebly walked to the scaffolds to give me her last motherly kiss to whose ears I whispered something that made her smile murmuring to herself ” may peace be in your life in the grave and our lives back home in Pakistan” and with it the executioner pulled the leveller”, that made my eyes opened in horror .
I looked with hateful eyes towards my wife, the instigator , who I believed should have been hanged in my place. Because, I was an innocent law abiding soul , trying to live another day in all the safety, comfort and luxury of my beloved country that gave me everything and to her I owed nothing except my life that remained safest , even if it was unsafe for my countrymen . Long Live Pakistan Where No Life Is Safe Except Few Lives 🇵🇰
