ISLAMABAD: A meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held at its headquarters with chairman Javed Iqbal in the chair. The meeting reviewed the ongoing inquiries/investigations against illegal housing societies/
cooperative housing societies.
The meeting was informed that billion of rupees have been returned to
the effectees after recovering from illegal housing/cooperative
societies in the investigations conducted by regional bureaus. The
effectees have thanked the Chairman NAB for the recovery of their looted
mony.
The meeting was told that some housing societies/cooperative societies
were busy in looting people and selling unauthorised files without
having lay out plan and (NOC) no objection certificate (NOC) from relevant
authorities, by enticing people through attractive advertisement
campaign, which is contrary to relevant laws. The silence of
respective regulators and not using their authority is tantamount to
negligence from official duties.
Chairman NAB has directed all director generals of NAB to conclude all inquiries/investigations
against illegal housing societies/ cooperative societies within the
prescribed timeframe so that that the life earned looted amount could
be returned to the effectees. He also directed all concerned to
strictly follow rules and relevant laws in the conduct of inquiries.
NAB is informed people in their own interest not to invest in any illegal
housing/ cooperative societies which donot have sufficient land or
approved by the concerned regulators and documents as NAB is receiving thousands of complaints in this
regard. Due to these reasons NAB has warned the people to have complete check before investing in housing societies as per law.
