Rawalpindi : The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has seized many properties of Bahria Town owned by Malik Riaz. According to a NAB handout , Phase VII of Bahria Town Rawalpindi has been sealed by NAB and any property transaction of this sector will be a domain of NAB in the future. Other properties of Bahria Town which have been taken over by NAB included Bahria Markee situated in Phase VII of Bahria Town Rawalpindi and Internation Academy in Bahria International Academy situated in Bahria Town Phase IV Rawalpindi.
NAB had issued an alert for the public large , cautioning them that they should not invest in Dubai City launched by Riaz Malik . It also issued a new alert last week , calling upon the public at large that since Malik Riaz was an absconder in a number of cases of forgery , fraud and cheating, the people are advised not to invest in any project of Bahria Town.
Malik Riaz was untouchable in Pakistan for years rather decades. He was a blue eyed for every political ruler in Pakistan during the last two decades. He made every ruler may be of PPP , PMLN or Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) a party to his land grabbing spree and then plundered prime lands in major cities like Lahore , Karachi and Rawalpindi.
Till 2024 , Malik Riaz was considered the most powerful person in Pakistan. He has hired top decision- makers, powerful lobbies like judges , journalists and generals to keep enjoying his fun of land grabbing and expanding his empire of Bahria Town.
Malik Riaz was on the record saying live on media that he uses wheels ( ill-gotten money) to get quick decisions done regarding Bahria Town.
In PPP last tenure Malik Riaz used presidency to give an impression to the bureaucracy that he was a de-fecto president and they need to oblige him by doing lawful and unlawful work of Bahria Town. In PMLN rule , Malik Riaz was equally powerful . He allegedly made some key members of Shahbaz Sharif family his partner in land fraud and enjoyed full authority in the Punjab to grab land of the state in many major cities of the province.
In Imran Khan rule , Malik Riaz hired Bushra Bibi , Farah Gogi and a number of members of Imran Khan’s cabinet to carry out his fun of grabbing state land and sell it to the public at large . After unbridled land grabbing for two decades , Malik Riaz , who is currently in Dubai , is finally under scrutiny. NAB is investigating a number of cases of land grabbing of Malik Riaz.
