ISLAMABAD; As a result of a wèek long protest throughout Pakistan, O/A level students have finally got a good news as the Cambridge University has agrèed to award the students grades assessed by their teachers. In a tweet on August 17, federal Education minister, Shafqat Mahmood, said “Our tireless efforts for grant of fair grades to Pakistani O/A level students have met a big success”. According to the minister , the Cambridge University has accepted the demand to review its result declared on August 11,2020 and now it will award grades assessed by the teachers . He said in case where students have been awarded better grades than predicted one’s, they will not be downgraded . Shafqat Mahmoud had stood with the students who ejected grades on August 11 and demanded the review of the grading formula for fair result. Shafqat Mahmood immediately after the students protest took up the matter with the Cambridge University and demanded fair grades for O/A level students. With review of previous grades, O/A level students will get fair chance to complete with HSC students for enrolment in professional colleges.
