ISLAMABAD : June 26, 2023 : A gray-hair man who claims to be an overseas Pakistani wails for being defrauded of Rs 10 million by administration of Park View City, a housing project falling in federal capital territory and Lahore owned by Aleem Khan president Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
Although there is no direct confirmation of the authenticity of a one and half minute video clip probably filmed outside the office of Park View City housing project ,but the pain and desperation shown by the alleged victim in his age of 60s is enough to confirm that he is a genuine victim of Park View City housing project and he has made the payment as claimed in the video to buy a plot in overseas sector of the society.
The alleged victim also named three persons –Adnan, Sajjad and Waqas, who are probably employees of Park View City housing project and claimed that the persons named by him in the clip had told him that he has not been allotted any plot in overseas sector of the project.
Since Pakistan lack a system wherein any regulator takes prompt action in the case of any injustice done to any allottee in any housing society and if after all there is any regulator it does not take any action against the project management in such cases of frauds.
The reasons that one can guess stop the regulator to protect investment of any buyer, local or overseas, is understood. The regulator, in majority of the cases, becomes a facilitator to the housing society rather than performing its role to ensure transparency in the working of the housing society by helping its top officials to make their personal fortune.
Park view city is owned by a known politician –Aleem Khan. He stays at top in his political party. No matter he is in Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) or Istehkam e Pakistan Party. It’s obvious that such a high profile housing society owner becomes bigger than the law of the land in Pakistan. There are many examples wherein the law simply acts as a mere housemaid to powerful land grabbers.
Malik Riaz of Bahria Town is its typical example. Entire Pakistani state and its authority seem like an obedient housemaid in the case of Bahria Town. No one in half century era of plundering and land grabbing of Malik Riaz of Bahria Town could dare to question its management.
Probably, the victim of injustice done by Aleem Khan’s housing society could be seen raising in his head and hands up to heaven pleads to the chief justice of Pakistan and the army chief to save him from fraud committed to him by Park View City housing society.
NEWSMAN tried to contract the management of Park View City on the issue. Its representative refused to tell her name, but confirmed by phone that the man who is claiming of defrauded had visited Park View Society office in Lahore and later recorded his protest through a video clip. She also confirmed that the society management was looking into the matter for justice to the victim .
