Pakistan postpone Afghan conference for now

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday announced to
postpone Aghan conference for now.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Chaudhary Zahid Hafeez, confirmed to media through a statement that Afghan conference, which was likely to be held in Islamabad this week, has been postpond on the request of Afghan president , Ashraf Ghani, for now.

Ashraf Ghani had had a meeting with prime minister, Imrqn Khan, in Uzbakistan and requested him to postpone Afghan conference .

Pakistan had announced to host Afghan conference in Islamabad to consult Afghan issue in lenght with political leadership of the country and the situation arising there in the wake of US and NATO forces unceremonial withdrawal.

Pakistan had already extended invitation for the conference to all main leaders of Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s top leadership is also negotiating Afghan issue and the new development in Afghanistan with important regional and international players.

Pakistan and many other important international players like US, China, Russia, Iran and Europe are also making genuine efforts to make Taliban realise that their runover on Afghanistan will make Afghan issue complex.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Islamabad is continously stressing upon Taliban to stop overrun on Afghanistan. Pakistan is struggling to bring Taliban and other stakeholders of Afgahnistan on negotiating table and find out a political long term solution to Afhgan crisis.

Unlike the past, Taliban are also showing reasonable and mature behaviour and avoiding complete takeover of Afghanistan. Their negotiators and spokespersons are posturing like civiised leadership this time.

Meanwhile, Taliban are continuing advancement in many provinces of Afghanistan.

Sohail Shaheen, political spokesperson for Taliban, had viewed in a local TV show that despite having success on military front, Taliban want to have a long term political solution to Afghan crisis.
