ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif’s possible return to Pakistan after 4 years self’ exile in United King (UK) has created a storm like situation in the government ranks. It was no one else, but prime minister, Imran Khan, who himself seemed in panic on the issue. He was quoted as sayinh during a meeting summoned by him here on Friday to form a strategy to cope with the possible emerging situation if self-exiled PMLN leader returns to Pakistan as how come convicted Nawaz Sharif could be equited from the corruption case.
Nawaz Sharif had hinted at returning to Pakistan in his recent talk to media from London.
Nawaz Sharif’s statement has put the government under huge political pressure. It seems that the government is in total caos over possible return to Pakistan. The PTI government, which is in a major shock after losing local bodies elections in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK), seems losing its political ground to the opposition.
PMLN is playing its political cards wisely. Soon after PTI’s humiliating defeat in KPK, its kegal team announced to file a case in the court for acquital of Nawaz Sharif in corruption case.
The government camp is having strong feeling that its favour from the establishment was fading out fast and in the given situation, Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan could create political problem for it. Imran government’s straight failure has put Nawaz Sharif’s PMLN back in the limelight. The government’s poor response to killing inflation and subsequent unbearable price-hike has hit hard Imran Khan’s popularity . It has gone further down with losing PTI in KPK local elections. Nawaz Shatif was perhaps waiting for the same development to plan his return to Pakistan.
PMLN second tier leaders are confident that Nawaz Sharif was going to come to Pakistan no matter even if it results in his going to jail.
Talking to NEWSMAN , PMLN senior leader, Ahsin Iqbal, said Nawaz Sharif is the most popular leader of Pakistan and whenever he returns the whole nation would welcome him.
He said ” The panic in Imran Khan camp over Nawaz Sharif ‘s statement was very much understandable”.
