Islamabad: Pakistan Engineering Council Chairman Waseem Nazir has stressed the need for practicing core values in engineering sector to ensure Pakistani construction companies compete in the international market.
He was addressing participants of Construction Projects Stakeholders Consultative Workshop at Islamabad. The workshop set forth to identify issues and challenges being faced by stakeholders in construction projects reviewed registration framework to find viable solutions with specific timeline s and responsibilities.
Participants of the workshop discussed at length key issues in construction industry and shared recommendations for reforms in regulatory framework. Various proposals to improve employability issues in construction projects were also discussed.
The participants lauded Pakistan Engineering Council to take initiative in providing a forum for debate on issues confronting construction sector in Pakistan. Engr Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, Engr Arshad Dad, Engr Shahid Rafi, Engr Imran Cheema, Dr Tahir Masud, Engr Abdul Qadeer and Engr Farhat Adil were also among the stakeholders who attended the workshop.
