PM repeats mantra of weeding out corruption again

ISLAMABAD: Prime minister, Imran Khan, on Sunday repeated his mantra of eradicating corruption from the society.
Speaking to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leaders and international media here, the prime minister claimed that the corrupt elements make money at the cost of development of the country and prosperity of the fellow countrymen.
The prime minister keeps on repeating his narrative of fighting against corruption ,but he perhaps has no idea as to what level corruption has increased in the society during his three and half years rule. He may recall chiding of his anti corruption narrative by one of his PTI local leaders during his last visit to Attock.
According to the sources the PTI local leader had come face- to -face to tell the prime minister in the presence of dozens of other party guys that level of corruption in his regime had gone up 400 precent.
Mr prime minister, the people are forced to pay Rs 5000 as bribe for a job in our government which they could get done for Rs 1000 in precious regimes.
The prime minister had not given much heed to the talk of surge in corruption in his tenure as it did not fit in his routine speeches. Imran Khan is habitual of taking a line which suits him. He hardly cares if his narrative was true or not. His narrative against corruption is its typical example. For years, Imran Khan has been taking the same line ” I will fight the corruption , no matter what it bring him in return”. He knows that PTI politics stands on his anti corruption narrative and he wants to keep pushing it without taking and hiatus to it.
There are many tales of corruption of Imran Khan rule like drug prices scam, oil shortage crisis and luxury vehicles import scam, but this is not an issue of beleaguered opposition. Instead, highlighting rising corruption, the opposition is giving half- hearted response to the price-hike.
