Lahore: Hafiz Saad Khadam Rizvi succeeded to his deceased father, Khadam Hussain Rizvi, as ameer Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) .
Hafiz Saad Rizvi was nominated as ameer of TLP by the council of the Tehreek after sudden death of Khadam Hussain Rizvi.
Saad took oath as TLP ameer at Minar-e-Pakistan where funeral of his father was held on Saturday.
Khadam Hussain Rizvi’s funeral was attended by tens of thousands of his followers and TLP supporters.
TLP was formed by deceased Khadam Hussain Rizvi in 2017. It turned into the most strong and authoritative forum to dictate the government of the day, particularly , on issues relating to Islam. Khadam Hussain proved himself as a true Muslim and a vibrant religious cleric in Pakistan in just short span of three years.
TLP emerged as an effective religious party in 2017 when deceased Khdam Hussain Rizvi announced to protest against the PMLN government, which in his point of view had made some objectionable changes regarding oath of parliamentarians.
In 2017, Rizvi faced huge government pressure to call -off his sit in at Faizabad …entry point of the federal capital …but he remained stood fast on his position and finally the government of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had to accept all conditions to get TLP sit in (Dharna) ended after several weeks.
Khadam Hussain Rizvi’s fiery speeches made his followers and commoners realise that it was their religious duty to stop the government of the day from introducing any law which could make the Muslims feel that it was against the basic preface of the constitution of Pakistan.
Again TLP staged sit in at the same entry point of Faizabad just a couple of weeks ago. This time the cause of Khadam Hussain Rizvi and his followers for sit in was anti Islam statements of the French president.
TLP under Khadam Hussain Rizvi’s leadership put a set of conditions for the government of lmran Khan to take action against the French ambassador to lodge protest against anti Islam remarks of French president.
Keeping in view the outcome of 2017 sit in, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government quickly moved to accept conditions of TLP that resulted in ending of sit in at Faizabad in four days.
During the first two days of sit in, TLP ameer , Khadam Hussain Rizvi, complained of fever and left the sit in site for Lahore where he died on Thursday last.
Khadam Hussain Rizvi’s sudden death had come as a major shock for his followers. It also gave a major blow to TLP .
“We are yet to believe that Baba G (Khadam Hussain Rizvi) is no more”, Syed Ghuffar Hussain, a follower of Baba G said in despair after the burial of Khadam Hussain Ruzvi.
Khadam Rizvi ,nodoubt, had emerged as a brave religious cleric and a true follower of Islam. TLP will have to wait for years to plug the gap in its leadership and get momentum set by Khadam Hussain Rizvi as a real religious cleric for the party.
