KARACHI: Feb 28,2023: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is going to announce the monetary policy on March 2,2023.
It is likely thet the SBP will increase the interest rate in its upcoming monetary policy.
The SBP is likely to increase interest rate by 200 basis point to push it to the new highs . The International Monetary Bank (IMF) is demanding of Pakistan to further increase in interest rate basically to tame killing inflation in the country . However , continuous surge in interest rate has made borrowing to the private sector of Pakistan almost like an impossible option.
The Monetary Policy Committee of SBP will meet on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at SBP Karachi to decide
about the Monetary Policy. Later on, SBP will issue the Monetary Policy Statement through a press
release on the same day
