This collage of four different subjects stitched together has different stories to tell, it is like a spider’s spun web which is invisible yet serves as a home and security to the spider though weakest in structure as described by the Holy Quran as example. .
Only yesterday I discovered that arrest warrants were issued against Azam Khan, the brilliant bureaucrat and the former Principal Secretary to Honourable Imran Khan, once no more the powerful person once he was, who ensured that those not liked by him remains side lined such as my simpleton friend Jan Muhammad, who was unceremoniously removed as Inspector General Islamabad once he took stand against the PTI politician Azam Swati’s high handedness against a poor family. Though restored by the order of the court, yet he showed dignity not to embarrass the PTI Government of the day and stepped aside with dignity .
Later again he was prematurely removed as Additional Inspector General KP, once he withdrew the police guards from the politicians who were not entitled to security at the state’s expense when police were already under staffed to maintain public order and provide security to ordinary citizens. Though I tried to humbly to request Honourable Azam Khan through a common friend , yet the request was turned down on the plea that Honourable Imran Khan was not in its favour which came as a rude shock to me about an officer who was upright, honest , dutiful and law abiding, yet never patronised and protected against the cruel system.
Today I called on Jan Muhammad presently posted at FIA HQ office in Islamabad where this motto of the Federal Investigation Agency caught my attention ” We stand for the rule of law” . One can wish this rule of the rule of law was respected in all institutions that today we would not be entangled in a self spun web of self security aimed at promoting nepotism, regionalism and parochialism that badly damaged both the the country and its institutions, when everyone strive to secure their individual positions without strengthening the country through strengthening its institutions and support the very ones who stand for them and the professional principles, something those in power miss sadly when no more in power . .
Together Jan and myself, reminisced the homemade breakfast we had at the F-9 Park, as we both love nature though both have no worldly fortunes, yet peace of mind in abundance , besides, Jan, being an exercise freak right from his youth, who knows nothing in between work, home and exercise that makes him a square peg in the round hole .
The fourth picture is of the new trail – 7, in Islamabad that my former colleague in Dawn Wajid Ghulam Rasool whom I used to call by his acronym of “WGR” shared with me knowing I love nature and all trails that lead to it. This trail was recently inaugurated by Capt R Usman, the new Chairman CDA, along with Zeeshan Naqvi Ex Deputy Mayor Islamabad ,Irfan Memon Deputy Commissioner Islamabad ,Irfan Niazi, DG Environment CDA and Honourable Rana kashif Director Environment CDA . Well done CDA staff we need to protect our environment, plant trees to save Pakistan from the environmental disaster with the storm clouds looming on the horizon ready to sweep anything that comes in its path.
My friend I and Jan agreed in principle that as and when the humidity level drops that together we will explore this new trail with a ” well *named after Alexander the Great, somewhere in between the 5 km length, starting from Sector C-12 to Kathela, named after someone who came, saw and conquered anything that came in his path, something we do just the opposite, who go, see and spoil nature and our environment, whether work, nature or country . May God Help Pakistan & Protect Pakistan .
