Why high profiled ambassadors travelled to swat without proper security?
ISLAMABAD : (Arif Rana) Malam Jaba incident wherein one dozen high profile Islamabad-based ambassadors had come under a terror attack has left many questions unanswered. Since the incidents many quarters are voicing questions which needs to be addressed by the concerned authorities.
One wonders who conceived the idea of taking one dozen high profile Islamabad-based ambassadors to Malam Jaba in Swat and what after all was the objective of this risky trip?. There is an urgent need to probe who allowed Zafar bukhtawari of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to take a group of 12 ambassadors to Swat and Malam Jaba?.
Nadeem Mansoor , an ICCI member , is among those Pakistanis who are in shock after getting the news of coming a group of Islamabad-based ambassadors under IED attack in Malam Jaba . He talked to this scribe on the incident. He said “ I got the news of taking a group of Islamabad –based ambassadors to Malam Jaba by Zafar Bukhtawari and its coming under terror attack’ in Malam Jaba and it shocked me like every Pakistani “. Nadeem Mansoor further said “ To me the purpose of taking the group of ambassadors to Malam Jaba could be for some personal interest of the organizers”. “I know many ICCI members who arranges such trips of the ambassadors to get honourary counsel generalship of a country and then use it for personal financial benefits and apparently there could be the same purpose of Malam Jaba trip”. He then questioned “But why such a big number of ambassadors travelled to Malam Jaba without proper security and who is responsible of this lapse”.
A group of high profile Islamabad –based ambassadors had travelled to Malam Jaba in Swat KKP where it came under terror attack. Terrorists used IED for targeting the ambassadors’ convoy . Thanks God the ambassadors remained unhurt. But the incident claimed life of one police officer besides injuring three others. Pakistan is under terror attacks for years and security forces are sacrificing lives to stem out foreign funded terrorists . In the given situation it’s extremely important that the ambassadors and other foreign nationals working on Pakistani projects should not travelled to KPK or Balochistan without prior permission of the concerned authorities and flawless security.
