Will not allow perpetrators to spoil peace in Afghanistan: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday made it clear that it would not remain a silent spectator over criticism on its efforts made to bring peace in war- torn Afghanistan.

Referring to the future war strategy, the army chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa, said the wars in the future would be of different nature and Pakistan is adopting hi-tech strategy to cope up with upcoming challenges. He said Pakistan’s defence forces were ever -ready to meet any challenge posed by the enemy in the future.

The army chief said ” Non -traditional technology will have central role in the future wars”.

The chief of the army staff (COAS) said this during his address to the military officers at Kakul academy.

The army chief in his address said Pakistan’s military dedicate itself to a cause to fight for homeland and the same committment creates its fear among enemy’s forces.

The army chief noted that despite difficulties today’s Pakistan was a strong and progessive one among the world nations.

The army chief said “You are a source of fear for enemy as your commitment to your cause (Desire to sacrifice lives for protection of homeland creates fear in enemy’s hearts”.

He said ” Our enemy has launched hybrid war on Pakistan to destablise it. He reiterated Pakistan’s position on Kasmir issue and said all efforts for peace in the region without resolving Kasmir issue will remain abortive.

Qamar Javed Bajwa added that the anti peace forces, which were earlier trying to sabtoage efforts for peace in Afghanistan, were again trying to conspire against that country.

The army chief maintained that Pakistan has paid heavy price for unrest in Afghanistan. He categorically noted that Pakistan will not remain a mere spectator to conspiracies being hatched by anti peace forces and will continue to make efforts for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.

Qamar Javed Bajwa said Pakistan hosted three million Afghans for four decades and its sacrifices for Afghanistan can not be ignored.

He asserted that only a strong military can guarantee defence of the homeland and the forces would be provided hi-tech equipment to fight the future wars and ensure defence of the homeland.
