A nation who remains enslaved mentally and physically would always remember 1857 as the year of the great mutiny against the British owned East India Company that ruled them ruthlessly.
The worst is that none amongst the freedom loving Pukhtuns on both side of the divide would remember the birth of their national hero born the same year of 1857, who was later to subdue the British pride of invincibility during the face to face epic battle of Maiwand on 27th July, 1880.
A nation that honours their dog ” Bobby” as war hero , who survived in the battle of Maiwand and is still remembered and respected by the British lying stuffed in their museum in England commands respect around the world for their values, where our leaders still run for safety with their valuables .
Sadly those who forget the heroism of their own Kings and leaders, who lie forgotten deep down both in their graves as well as their own people’s memories for whose freedom they fought, will hardly be ever recognised as a nation ever, but always hated as a rogue community not even today recognised as a nation deserving any respect.
Today on 27 th July 2022 at 8 am, lost in deep thoughts and prayers that I am sure will give our this great ancestor a smile and satisfaction in his grave at the Durrani Graveyard in Peshawar that though he is long dead and forgotten but history will continue to live and some day his own people will be awakened to have pride in their own past and their path that would lead them to glory then follow others and their paths that will lead them to no where.
I wish we someday realise to respect ourselves by respecting our true leaders who led us to glory and self pride though their foot prints and memories were erased by the British, knowing their existence was a threat to their pride that they time and again subdued both militarily and as statesmen.
I wonder if the British own member parliament is as much respected today as their Royal family, more loyal to the Britain then any politician, the sole reason they maintain and respect their Royal Family. Rest in Peace Ghazi Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan, the Victor of the battle of Maiwand.
