ISLAMABAD . Nov 7, 2022. The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Monday took serious notice of delay in registering of the first information report (FIR) in the case of firing on Imran Khan and his other party workers in Wazirabad on November 3, 2022 and threw a deadline of 24 hours for the concerned to fulfill this legal requirement . Top court also warned to the concerned authorities that non filing of FIR would prompt the court to take a suo moto for action against those responsible of delay in registering the FIR.
Following harsh reaction.from the SCP, the federal government has ordered to the Punjab government to register FIR in Wazirabad firing case forthwith.
The federal government addressed to the chief secretary Punjab and Inspector general of police (IGP) in the letter, asking them to remove all irritants in delay and registering FIR in Wazirabad case.

Chief minister Punjab , Pervez Elahi , rushed to Zaman Park here where PTI is residing after disharging from Shaukat Khanam Hospital, to discuss with him pros and cons of the FIR being placed before the concerned police in Wazirabad. Soon after the meeting with Pervez Elahi Imran Khan , summoned a meeting of his legal aides to have their legal input before making his mind for registering a case against those individuals who in his opinion were involved in archestoring a plan to assaainate him while leading long march .
Imran Khan has been accusing prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, Interior minister Rana Sanaullah and a senior officer of the army .
PTI chief wants to have an FIR against all three individuals including the army officer .
Chief minister Punjab , Pervez Elahi, who is considered close to the establishment is not willing to direct the police to register FIR as long as the application contains the name of the senior army officer.
