ISLAMABAD. Nov 9,2022. As political situation gets afloat at home , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , on Wednesday changed his route from Cairo (Egypt) to London to discuss important national issues with his political mentor and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo , Nawaz Sharif.
Shahbaz Sharif had landed in Cairo ( Egypt ) two days ago to attend COP conference on global environment and as per his original itenrary he was supposed to return home. But unexpectedly , the prime minister changed his route after attending the conference in Cairo and flew to London to discuss some very important issues with Mian Nawaz Sharif .
The level of urgency in travelling from Cairo (Egypt) to London and have discussion with Nawaz Sharif could be guaged from one factor only that prime minister had an urgent meeting with Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz soon after reaching at Avan Field flats in London.
Shahbaz Sharif has two important tasks to do in next few days. One, make a formal announcement for appointment of the new army chief. Second , call a final shot to cope with Imran Khan’s long march.
Sudden visit to London and have closed door discussion with Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz indicate level of sensitivity and nature of subjects of discussion .
Usually , since becoming the prime minister in April last Shahbaz Sharif whenever goes to see Mian Nawaz Sharif in London , he takes a group of PMLN leaders along, but his solo travel to London from Egypt and have an urgent meeting with PMLN supremo in no time after landing is something very special.
Although Shahbaz Sharif tried to play down the curiosity of the journalists on arrival in London who wanted to know the reasons of his sudden travel to London at a time when the PTI long march was challenging his government at home , but they seemed less convinced by his reply of Shahbaz Sharif that he was in London to see his elder brother only.
According to local media , Shahbaz Sharif will stay in London for at least two days .
In Pakistan, the people who matter argue that Shahbaz Sharif has been given a deadline by powerful circles to decide the matter of PTI long march and put an end to the on-going political turmoil or his government may get some unexpected bumps in very near future. These informed circle also claim that Shahbaz Sharif has left for London to discuss final game plan of his government on the most difficult question as how to cope with Imran Khan’s long march starting from Wazirabad tomorrow for Islamabad .
