Karachi: Jan 21,2023: Historic treaty of friendship between France and Germany “Elysee treaty” is being celebrated by consulates of France and Germany in Karachi .it’s a 60th anniversary of the treaty which was signed by President of France, Charles de Gaulle and the Chancellor of Germany Konrad Adenauer on 22nd January 1963 at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
Both countries established a news foundation for bilateral relations after the World War II enmity and rivalry.
The best part of the treaty is to create environment for regular consultation on all levels.
To commemorate the friendship teary, Consul General of France in Karachi , Excellency Alexis Chahtahtinsky and Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany , Excellency, Dr Rudiger Lotz issue a video statement to celebrate the friendship between France and Germany.
According to the historical details after World War II, France reached out to its former enemy and treated Germany as a partner. The following 60 years have been the happiest time in two countries. In fact, it was hostile situation before this treaty, but it was a great deal of the political leadership and wisdom on both sides.
Now, the cultural relations between the two Nations are marvellous. the cultural centers of both countries, Alliance francaise and the Goethe Institute have come together under the same roof, to bring French and German Language and Culture closer to the people
Of Karachi , France and Germany do believe that this friendship can serve as an example for other nations.
