A family friend Honourable Niaz Ali Shah, one of the notables from Swat and a family friend sent me this message while ago of a huge blast being heard followed by this video reportedly of the police counter terrorism department station being blown up by terrorists with reported high number casualties of the police on duty and emergency declared in the local hospitals and distressed SOS call circulated by the local police on the social media for blood donations.
Beggars have excuses one, is to play a victim card. Pakistan sadly suffers from its terrorism syndrome that keeps retuning to haunt her compelling it play the victim card for blaming terrorism for all its own ills and failings . Swat is one classic example that sadly faces terrorism where both the citizens and law enforcers died by thousands due to lack of will than resources. Neither the locals are mobilised to fight it out or the law enforcers capable to eradicate it
It is yet any tragic coincident that whenever the tourism season starts that with it terrorism returns disturbing both the lives and livelihoods of its citizens besides causing billions worth losses to the country’s economy.
I doubt with able administration and mobilisation of the locals their hardly could be any terrorist or incident of terrorism. I can bet on the administrative capabilities of many capable officers who if given free hand can rid the locals from the terrorism menace that unfortunately has become more of a seasonal occurrence than a random occurrence .
If there is a will there is a way but lack of will is what makes terrorism flourish more in the beautiful Vale of Swat than tourism, that remains life line for many patriotic Pakistanis
who are either killed by terrorists or the hunger both gifts of terrorism that ironically we failed either to fight or root out that is now eating into the roots of the country jeopardising its existence more than threatening her resilient nation who continue to face it generation after generation, endlessly.
