No additional charges for ‘Aab e Zam Zam’ ; clarifies minister for Religious Affairs

ISLAMABAD : May 1,2023: Minister for Religious Affairs , Senator Talha Mahmood , has said that he was personally monitoring Hajj 2023 operation to make sure that the intending Hajis get the best facilities and quality food during their stay in holy cities of Mecca and Madina .

In a statement issued to the media on May 1, the minister said no additional price will be Charged from Hajis for ‘Aab e Zam Zam’ as it was already included in the Hajj package since 2017. He termed some news that appeared in social media in this regard a few days ago as fake and concocted.

Mr Talha Mahmood added that he will oversee all Hajj arrangements and there will be zero tolerance in providing facilities and quality food to the intending Hajis during Hajj operation.

He added that maximum Hajis will get ‘Road to Mecca’ facility to have easy clearance and travel facility for Hajj this year.

‘Road to Mecca’ facility provides full clearance of intending Hajis at Pakistani airports before travelling for Saudi Arabia for Hajj and it protects the intending Pakistani Hajis from going through an hours ordeal of wait at Saudi airports.

The minister Talha Mahmood is a practical man and he had visited Saudi Arabia soon after taking over the charge as federal minister for Religious Affairs around one month ago to monitor the arrangements being made in holy cities of Mecca and Madina for Pakistani Hajis for Hajj 2023.

Around 0.1 million Pakistani will perform Hajj this year .

Hajj operation is likely to start from May 15 and will close on July 15.
