An old Pakistani villager having wrinkled face once remarked, “ever since I was born I hear that Pakistan was on its death bed but why it is taking so long to die when it keeps us neither to live or die without it” . Then his remarks appeared offensive to me me but today when I see Pakistan sinking not because of its citizens who leave no stone unturned to serve her but its leaders who ensure no institution of it survives with dignity to serve its citizens .
The last being PIA that now thankfully being sold at least to rid both the nation and its citizens of the airline misuse by its leaders and their free rides at the cost of the misery and sufferings of the people who fuel it with their blood.
What a shame to know that on the holy day of Friday 10th May 2024 in the Islamic Republic Of Pakistan , a dead body of a six year old child scheduled to be flown to Skardu from Islamabad was left behind because Minister of Kashmir Affairs Honourable Amir Muqam at the last minute decided to travel to Skardu instead of Gilgit because his Gilgit flight was cancelled due to bad weather that kept the Skardu bound flight in waiting for the VIP while the dead body of the child was left behind in the confusion by the nervous PIA staff, who are now notorious worldwide for being an airline with which only great people fly while the ordinary people are left on the ground to weep.
It makes my heart bleed for the l pain of the emotionally shattered parents of six years old child Mujtaba, a resident of Katshi village of Kharmang district, diagnosed with a tumour at a hospital in Skardu and brought all the way to Rawalpindi for treatment at Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he lost his life on Thursday
The parents were just left with their beloved child’s dead body and memories that they despite being poor decided to transport by air due to long road journey and hot weather and despite having booked the dead body through cargo fainted out of shock once they landed at the Skardu Airport that their beloved deceased child’s body whose life they tried to save was left behind by the PIA just to carry their beloved politician, who being one of the great people that PIA prides to fly with. At least this incidence now gives me some consolation and satisfaction about the Airline now to be sold off soon as it no more deserves to be a national carrier rather a source of constant shame to the nation.
