Spokesman of Pakistan Foreign Office says,2 Chinese citizens were injured in firing in Karachi

Islamabad: The spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Office has said that the investigation into the incident in which 2 Chinese citizens were injured as a result of firing in Karachi is ongoing, while Pakistan is determined to bring those responsible to justice.

In a statement released by the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, it has been said that two Chinese nationals were injured in Karachi this morning as a result of firing after a dispute with a private guard, who were immediately transferred to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The spokesperson further said that we sympathize with the families of the injured and pray for their speedy recovery.

According to the spokesman of the Foreign Office, the investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing, Pakistan is determined to bring those responsible to justice, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry of Interior.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistan and China are close partners and iron brothers, united by mutual respect and common destiny.

It is further stated that Pakistan reiterates its unwavering commitment to protect Chinese nationals, projects and institutions in Pakistan.

It should be noted that 2 Chinese citizens were injured in the firing of the security guard in Karachi today. A Karachi police officer confirmed the injuries of the Chinese nationals and said that the Sindh government reported the clash at the police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kemari Faizan Ali said that two Chinese nationals were injured in the firing by the security guard.

A statement issued by the Sindh Interior Ministry said that a clash took place between foreign nationals and a security guard within the confines of a police station in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (Site) A area.

It should be noted that in October, 3 people including a Chinese citizen were killed and 11 other citizens were injured in a terrible explosion on the road near Jinnah International Airport.
