Dutch Ambassador Visits Minister for Finance and Revenue

Islamabad (Newsman): Henny de Vries, the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan, met with Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, today at the Finance Division to discuss issues of mutual interest and look into ways to fortify the already strong ties between the Netherlands and Pakistan.

The discussion covered many topics related to the long-standing friendship and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands. It also selected important sectors for future corporate collaborations, including mining, IT, oil and gas, agricultural, dairy, and farm produce.

The Minister highlighted the government’s economic plan and reform agenda for promoting economic growth and ensuring fiscal sustainability.

He highlighted the economic progress made in the previous 14 months and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing its current trajectory to put the economy on track for long-term, export-driven growth.

He also emphasized Pakistan’s efforts to finance climate change and to build the ability to achieve climate resilience through sustainable solutions.

Ambassador de Vries expressed the same views on enhancing bilateral relations and extending collaboration across several domains, including sports. She said that early in the upcoming year, the Dutch cricket team would travel to Pakistan to play matches and observe Pakistan’s skill as a game.

She also reaffirmed her nation’s support for Pakistan’s trade and commerce with the EU and expressed gratitude for the continuing structural reforms in key economic and financial sectors.
