ISLAMABAD, November 27, 2024: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday expressed his appreciation for the failure of the “conspiracy of mischief” behind the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, following a successful security operation to disperse demonstrators in the capital.
In a statement after the operation, Naqvi praised the role of police and other forcesin restoring peace and order in the capital city.
During a visit to D-Chowk and Khyber Plaza, he lauded the efforts of the Rangers, Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and police forces from Islamabad, Punjab, and Sindh.
Naqvi specifically praised the Rangers officers and personnel for their leadership in bringing calm to the area.
He also met with law enforcement officers stationed at D-Chowk, personally thanking them for their dedication in clearing the site of protesters.
The Minister extended his gratitude to the Pakistan Army, FC, and police forces for their tireless work in ensuring the safety and security of the capital during the operation.
Meanwhile, PTI announced the cancellation of its planned protest in Islamabad following the operation.
A spokesperson for the party stated that the next course of action would be decided after consultations with party leadership, including a core committee meeting.
The PTI spokesperson also condemned what they described as a violent crackdown on peaceful protesters, alleging that hundreds of innocent people were injured as law enforcement “rained bullets” on the streets of the capital.
