Islamabad (Newsman): Today, the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) met in a special meeting at the Finance Division, presided over by Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Industries and Production; Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Minister of Power; Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives; Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of Commerce; Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue (virtual); federal secretaries; and senior officers from relevant ministries and departments attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the state of implementation of several previous ECC policy decisions about finance, the interior, industries and production, interprovincial coordination, housing and works, food security and research, power, and the regulation and coordination of national health services.

After a briefing on the general state of implementation of its previous rulings, the ECC heard separate presentations from the pertinent ministries outlining the current state of the pending matters and also the actions necessary to resolve them.
The ECC expressed concern about the delays in implementing its decisions into action and instructed the relevant ministries to enhance coordination and proactively engage with stakeholder ministries and divisions through an appropriate escalation mechanism to guarantee prompt compliance and completion of the duties and responsibilities delegated to them for the implementation of the ECC’s decisions.
