Resolution to Ban PTI Submitted in Punjab Assembly

PML-N Submits Resolution in Punjab Assembly, Demands Action Against PTI

ISLAMABAD, November 29,2024: A resolution calling for a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has been submitted to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat by Rana Muhammad Fayyaz, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA).

The resolution accuses PTI of being a “disruptive group” operating under the guise of a political party and demands stringent action against those responsible for the violent events on November 24.

The resolution claims that PTI has played a significant role in destabilizing the country, alleging that the party promotes an anarchist agenda.

The submission comes in response to recent calls from various quarters to curtail PTI’s activities, particularly following violent protests in Islamabad and other parts of the country.

This move follows a similar resolution passed in the Balochistan Assembly on Thursday, also initiated by the PML-N.

The Balochistan resolution accuses PTI of damaging key institutions, including the judiciary, media, and economy, and calls for federal intervention to impose a ban on the party and hold its leadership accountable for their alleged actions.

The resolution further criticizes PTI for allegedly orchestrating violent demonstrations, including attacks on public and military properties during the May 9 protests last year.

It also highlights the alleged misuse of state machinery by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to challenge federal authority, accusing PTI of pushing a “non-political agenda.”
