LAHORE, November 30, 2024: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has arrested 34 hardcore terrorists during 242 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in various cities across the province.
The operations took place in key cities including Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Narowal, Sargodha, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Gujrat, Bhakkar, and Rahim Yar Khan.
According to a CTD spokesperson, 11 of the arrested individuals were identified as members of Fitna al Khawarij and other banned terrorist organizations.

In Lahore, the CTD team recovered a large cache of weapons and explosives, including maps of important buildings, arms, ammunition, explosive materials, 28 detonators, a 89-foot safety fuse wire, a hand grenade, four IED bombs, and prohibited currency.
The arrested terrorists, identified as Zubair, Aslam, Abu Bakr, Fida Hussain, Fahad Saleem, Saifullah, Nafees, Israr, Haji Shah, and Abdullah, were reportedly planning to target a sensitive building in Lahore.

In addition to the arrests, the CTD carried out 7,536 combing operations across Punjab in November, during which 637 suspicious individuals were detained.
The department also conducted extensive interrogations, questioning a total of 235,630 people as part of its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and ensure security in the region.
