ISLAMABAD – The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Muhammad Shafiq, met former Additional Secretary to the Government of Pakistan and former Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khushdil Khan Malik, at the residence of Raja Nazim Ali in Bradford.Raja Nazim Ali and Raja Riaz were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming Mr.Malik to Bradford, the Lord Mayor expressed gratitude for his dedicated and untiring services to the welfare of Overseas Pakistanis (OSPs).He acknowledged that, through Mr.Malik’s efforts, numerous issues faced by OSPs had been resolved, including the establishment of a special facilitation mechanism at all airports in Pakistan to assist overseas citizens, along with other initiatives aimed at their well-being.
During the meeting, discussions focused on matters concerning the Pakistani diaspora in Bradford and surrounding areas.The Lord Mayor informed Mr. Malik that the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom was jubilant and took immense pride in the recent success of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in “Maarika-e-Haq” against India.He said that rallies and celebratory events were being organized in honour of the victory, which has been widely acknowledged internationally, bringing further respect and recognition to Pakistan in the global community.
The Lord Mayor also extended an invitation to Mr. Malik to address the Bradford City Council in its forthcoming session a request that Mr. Malik graciously accepted.
