ISLAMABAD, September 8, 2026 The Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu has called for greater digitalisation across capital markets, REITs and insurance to expand the distribution, accessibility and adoption of regulated financial products, an SECP announcement made here on Tuesday said.
The statement further said He expressed these views during a meeting with senior representatives of VEON and JazzWorld, including VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu, JazzWorld CEO Aamir Ibrahim and Syed Zaheer Mehdi. SECP Commissioner Ali Farid Khawaja also attended the meeting.
According to the statement , the discussions focused on using technology and digital platforms to broaden retail participation in formal financial markets and improve access to investment, savings, insurance and other financial services.

It said ” VEON and JazzWorld leadership reaffirmed their long-term commitment to Pakistan, highlighting investments of approximately USD 11 billion over the past three decades and plans to invest a further USD 1 billion over the next three years”.
Dr Kabir also emphasized the importance of digital outreach for financial literacy and investor education. Both sides agreed that expanded digital access must be supported by greater public awareness of financial products, responsible investment and financial planning.
